Tata MF's PMS division lacks scale and independence, impacting its ability to benefit from the mutual fund's strengths. Without clearer definition and focus, we do not recommend investing in Tata PMS.
AMC Pedigree
Tata PMS is the PMS division of Tata AMC. Despite having a strong brand in India, Tata has faced challenges in growing their AMC business. They have experienced high turnover of senior fund managers and have struggled to scale their PMS business.
Team Pedigree
Tata PMS has recently seen investment-team churn, with the previous fund manager, Tejas Gutka, exiting in July 2025 and being replaced by Pranav Mise. This also highlights a broader concern with MF-driven AMC structures, where fund-manager continuity can be an issue due to limited long-term incentives to retain key talent.

Pranav Misra is the Fund Manager for Tata PMS. He began his career in 2016 as an analyst at ICRA, before moving to the buy-side as an Associate at Daiwa AMC. He joined Tata AMC in May 2021 as a Junior Fund Manager and was elevated to the role of Fund Manager in 2024
